Blood-borne viruses

Hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are all blood-borne viruses (BBVs) and both are major public health issues worldwide. While Australia, as a whole, is rated a low risk country by global standards, infection rates are higher in some groups of people than in the general population.

Our research is focused on the sexual health of key population groups and aims to understand the lived experience of patients to understand the best approach to prevention and treatment of these blood born viruses.
