Miss Emily Hall

Emily is a proud Wiradjuri woman with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (Hons) from the University of Queensland. Her research addresses Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Indigenous Research Methodologies, Physical Literacy and Physical Activity and Movement. Using the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of Knowing, Being and Doing, Emily’s innovative PhD work has co-conceptualised movement-based programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The programs are designed to directly improve youth health and wellbeing, and physical literacy development.
Emily is committed to translating and sharing her work back to community, as well as presenting her results in national and international conferences. Emily holds membership in the ESSA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Steering Committee, seeking to advance the interests and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through the development of ESSA’s First Nations Strategy.
Emily maintains an active practical presence outside of academia. She is an ASCA-registered strength and conditioning coach and completed a High-Performance X Equity fellowship with the San Antonio Spurs in America in 2022. Emily received recognition for her innovative work, being awarded the UQ Indigenous HDR Development Award in 2022.
