Keighley is a proud Māori woman with connections to the North Island of New Zealand (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāpuhi andNgātiwai). 

She has a background in research and health service evaluation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, having worked previously as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Urban Indigenous Health. She is currently working with the FNCWR team as a Senior Research Assistant. 

Keighley graduated from the University of Queensland in 2021 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Health Promotion major) and is currently completing her honours under the supervision of Dr Nisreen Aouira. Her project work and honours thesis will focus on evaluating the impact of an educational intervention on First Nations' attitudes, knowledge and intentions to participate in bowel screening. 

Keighley is extremely passionate about Indigenous health and wellbeing, with particular interest in health promotion, cancer screening and prevention.
