The Australian Women and Girls' Health Research (AWaGHR) Centre are offering a one-day workshop on data linkage practices.

This workshop will provide an introduction to administrative health data and practical tips on how to analyse linked data. It will focus on the linked data collections available at Queensland Health and draw on the expertise of researchers at the Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research Centre.

Location: University of Queensland, St Lucia campus

Topics covered:

  • Linked data available from Queensland Health
  • How to apply for linked data access at Queensland Health
  • How to prepare linked data for analysis with basic hands-on exercises
  • Examples of how multi-jurisdictional data can be used in health research

Please note: the exercises will be conducted in R Studio, however, the coding will be provided to you

Presenters:

  • Senior Data Linkage Officers from the Queensland Health Statistical Services Branch
  • Research Fellows from the Australian Women and Girls’ Health Research Centre

Who should attend?
Current health researchers and students seeking to gain knowledge in linked health data and to increase skills in preparing and analysing linked data.

Cost:
The cost for the workshop is $100. Attendees will be provided with morning tea, course notes, datasets and codes, and a certificate of completion.

Lunch can be purchased from the UQ Student Union Building and cafes nearby. 

    Prerequisites:

    • Experience in general quantitative data analysis
    • Experience in statistical coding (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, Stata)
