HeMBDA study is calling for general practitioners and gynaecologists to participate

7 April 2025

Recent Australian studies have shown that there is significant variation in how women with heavy menstrual bleeding are managed across the country. The Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Decision Aid (HeMBDA) Study, led by Prof. Jenny Doust at the University of Queensland, is investigating how general practitioners and gynaecologists across Australia manage this condition and what influences the choices doctors make with their patients.

The HeMBDA team are looking for general practitioners and gynaecologists who manage women with heavy menstrual bleeding to participate in qualitative interviews on this topic. The interviews will last about 30 minutes and participants will receive a gift voucher worth $100. We will also provide a certificate of participation that you can use for continuing professional development.

General practitioners who would like to participate in the study can register their interest here.

Gynaecologists who would like to participate in the study can register their interest here.

More information about the study is available in the participant information sheet.
