Lara is a new research project coordinator with the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing research team taking on the management of the Communication and Collaboration in Cancer Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People project (4Cs)  and the ‘Implementation of a First Nations Cancer Nurse Navigator in metropolitan and regional Queensland cancer centres’ project (Patient Navigator).

Prior to this, Lara completed Master of Public Health through Charles Darwin University and has worked for many years within regional and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within the Northern Territory’s top end as a Public Health Nutritionist/Dietitian. Bringing experience of working alongside a diverse range of stakeholders with a key focus on supporting grassroot movements and projects that reflect the expressed needs of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
