Researcher biography

Cass is an epidemiologist and public health researcher, bringing over 15 years’ experience in community-based social and health programs. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology and a Master of International Public Health. She has worked for several non-profit organisations, research institutions, universities, and levels of government both in Australia and internationally. Cass is dedicated to positively impacting the communities around her through her strategic expertise and extensive experience in varying branches of public health.

Cass is working on the First Nations Cancer Cohort Study (CanCo) and Synergy Projects.

  • CanCo will establish a prospective population-based cohort of First Nations peoples diagnosed with cancer. 
  • The Synergy project aims to achieve equity in cancer screening for First Nations peoples through co-designing and implementing equitable, sustainable, and scalable cancer screening programs and initiatives that are developed by and driven in partnership with First Nations people and communities.
