Luba-Tendresse (Lex) Cooper
Lex is a non-Indigenous Research Project Officer in the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research team at the University of Queensland's School of Public Health. Lex graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, Public Health major in 2018.
She currently supports the team in the coordination, management, and implementation of several projects within the Wellbeing Research Program, including the study ‘What Matters to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youths’ Wellbeing: Developing a wellbeing measure for youth (WM2Y Project)’.
Prior to this role, Lex worked in healthcare accreditation and quality improvement, co-developing and guiding the delivery of state and national-level schemes and initiatives including but not limited to the Suicide Prevention Australia Standards Assessor Training, RSHQ Coal Mine Workers Accreditation Health Scheme, Brisbane South PHN Person-Centred Care Practice Programs Initiative and the Gwandalan National Palliative Care Project.
Lex’s high-level project management experience is underpinned by a passion and commitment to health and social equity, intersectionality, and inclusion.
