Yao is a non-Indigenous research assistant in the First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research team at the University of Queensland, School of Public Health. Yao graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Public Health) and she is a current student on Master of Public Health at the University of Queensland.
Yao is currently working on a systematic review of cancer screening intervention among First Nations populations in Australia.
