Stockholm University in Sweden has recognised UQ’s Professor Gita Mishra as a world-leading researcher in life-course epidemiology and women’s health.
Professor Mishra will be awarded an honorary doctorate for her work on the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and for leading the international research study InterLACE.
In an official statement, Stockholm University said, “an honorary doctorate is an expression of the University’s appreciation of outstanding contributions in one or more of the University’s areas of academic activity.”
Professor Mishra will be awarded her doctorate at an official ceremony in September and will deliver a public lecture in Stockholm on her research into women’s reproductive health, furthering the work of the AWaGHR centre and its health research outcomes.
