Halijah is a part-time research officer working on Work Package 3 (ethical, rights-based deployment of genomics in medicine) with Caitlin Curtis and Greg Pratt. Halijah has had extensive experience working as a physiotherapist with young children with disabilities. She has a Master of Applied Epidemiology from the ANU, and her public health experience has included working with the WHO team in Hong Kong during the SARS outbreak, and on disease surveillance projects in the Mekong Delta region for the WHO. Halijah has recently returned to Australia after living and working overseas for an extended period. Halijah is a Djugun woman and member of the Yawuru People (Western Australia).
