Improving disease management and outcomes

The current focus for our priority on improving disease management and outcomes include:

  • Cancer survivorship and long-term survival
  • Non-sedentary behaviour and obesity
  • Alcohol, drug and tobacco use

These are reflected in the following specialist, inter-disciplinary centres:

Cancer Prevention Research Centre - this centre investigates behavioural risk factors for major cancers.

Centre of Longitudinal and Life Course Researchthis centre conducts research on a broad range of health issues across the human lifespan.

WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Information Systems - the World Health Organization has designated our School as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Information Systems.

Queensland Alcohol and Drug Research and Education Centreestablished in 1996 as a co-operative venture between Queensland Health and The University of Queensland (UQ).
