Professor Sarah McNaughton will present on Using dietary pattern frameworks in nutritional epidemiology’. Dietary patterns have increasingly become a focus of research in the field of nutritional epidemiology. There is now significant recognition among national and international researchers, policy-makers and practitioners that food and nutrition guidelines, policies and interventions should be informed by evidence obtained from dietary patterns research. This presentation will outline some of the issues in dietary patterns research and new perspectives examining eating patterns and challenges in using this research to inform guidelines.
