The HDR Conference 2025 will showcase the research of Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates from the School of Public Health (SPH), and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. We warmly encourage both students from these schools and centres to attend and engage in the conference.

Publishing Awards

The Publishing Awards aim to recognise the academic publishing successes of the School of Public Health (SPH) and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health HDR students. Registrations are open to all current MPhil and PhD Candidates who have published peer-reviewed articles in the last 12 months (for full-time enrolled students) and 24 months (for part-time enrolled students). Only articles directly related to a Candidate’s PhD will be considered.

The SPH-Poche HDR Conference 2025 will be held at The University of Queensland's Herston campus in Brisbane.

Located just minutes from the Brisbane CBD, Herston is home to UQ’s Medical, Public Health and Dentistry schools, as well as the UQ Oral Health Centre and several globally significant centres for clinical research.

You can find the location of the conference venue, Oral Health Lecture Theatre, on this interactive Herston Campus map, which also shows how to get there from the main Herston bus terminal, as well as nearby cafes on campus.

We remind all attendees that morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided during the event.
